Homework for the remaining weeks of January (Until the Writing Test)

Please note that students should be reading at least 20 minutes each night. The students must then document what they read, the author, and the number of pages. Students should then get a parental signature for each listed documentation.

Students should have 1500 pages read by the January 28th deadline

AGENDA REMINDER

Please make sure that you are checking and signing your students agenda each night. It is a school requirement that all agendas are signed on Thursday night. Currently the 8th grade students are receiving the lowest percentage than any other grade level due to not getting this signed. Let's work together to help improve our numbers!!!

What's Going On in 8th Grade

Each month your student should receive a newsletter providing you with up-to-date information on important dates and content that is being covered within 8th grade.

*Science: Continue working on Science Fair Projects

* Language Arts/Reading: Reviewing the areas of weaknesses for students as it relates to the writing traits (notes on writing traits are listed in an older post on this page)

* Math: Continue to review math concepts--integers, fractions, multiplication facts, etc.

* Social Studies: Civil War and Its Affects on Georgia

Writing Assessment Postponed....NEW DATE

Due to the inclement weather and the days schools were out because of this, the 8th grade Middle Georiga Writing Assessment, or MGWA has been rescheduled to January 26th. Please make sure that you are aware of this new date, and continue to stress the importance of it to our students.
